Eligibility Criteria for CSR-1 Registration
To apply for CSR-1 registration, your NGO must:
Be registered as a Trust, Society, or Section 8 Company.
Hold a valid 12A and 80G registration under the Income Tax Act.
Have a clear objective aligned with activities listed in Schedule VII of the Companies Act, such as education, healthcare, rural development, etc.
Maintain a functioning bank account and basic financial systems.
Step-by-Step CSR-1 Registration Process
Documentation Preparation
Ensure your NGO has 12A & 80G certificates, PAN card, and registration documents in place.
Obtain Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
One active Trustee or Director must have a valid DSC for filing the form.
Filing of Form CSR-1
Submit the CSR-1 form on the MCA portal, duly certified by a practicing Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, or Cost Accountant.
Verification & CSR Registration Number
Upon successful verification, MCA issues a Unique CSR Registration Number, making your NGO eligible for corporate partnerships.
